Software Engineer

For our headquarters in the heart of Rotterdam we are looking for a technical specialist to join our development team. You will work in a small team of talented professionals and will be responsible for programming and testing software which includes SMS games and the underlying platform. The position requires responsibility, the ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts and technologies as well as good communication skills to work in a team and to communicate with both domestic and foreign partners.

This position includes maintaining our SMS platform and expanding its functionality, identifying and resolving problems for existing products, adding functionality and developing new SMS and/or TV game applications.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain and expand our SMS and video platform
- Support our junior staff
- Analyze functional requirements and develop technical requirements
- Implement / build SMS applications
- Connect to external SMS Gateways and TV broadcast systems
- Test services

Professional skills required:
- Knowledge of Perl (or PHP and willing and able to learn Perl quickly)
- Knowledge of C++
- MySQL database (usage and basic administration skills)
- UNIX, LINUX in particular (usage of basic administration skills)
- Apache web server (mod_perl experience is preferred)
- XML, basic HTML and CSS
- Understanding of TCP / IP networking, HTTP protocol
- Basic knowledge of JavaScript
- Good knowledge of English
- Knowledge of DirectX is preferred
- Knowledge of other programming languages (C#, Java etc.) and technologies (SOAP, .NET etc) is preferred
